Bob Sharp, Operating Partner
Bob Sharp is an operating partner at Blue Wolf Capital Partners LLC and has decades of experience leading and restructuring businesses in diverse industries. Most recently Mr. Sharp served as Chief Restructuring Officer of Gloucester Engineering Co., Inc. (GEC). GEC, one of the leading providers of equipment to the plastics extrusion and converting industry, faced liquidation in early 2010. Under Mr. Sharp's leadership, the company was restructured; resulting in significant new business, lower costs, resumption of R&D initiatives, work force expansion and a restart of its Indian joint venture. After emerging from bankruptcy in January 2011, Blue Wolf became the majority shareholder of GEC.
From 2001-2008, Mr. Sharp served as an operating principal for American Capital, Ltd. (Nasdaq:ACAS), a publicly-traded private equity firm with $18 billion in capital resources under management. During that period, Bob was responsible for 17 portfolio companies ranging in revenues from $25 to $500 million, served as CEO for six firms, and was a board director for 18 companies. During his tenure at American Capital, Mr. Sharp was responsible for companies in diverse industries, including chemicals, coatings, fibers, gases, electronics, electrical, paper, printing, equipment, transportation, consumer goods and foods. He also provided due diligence support for numerous investment opportunities.
Prior to American Capital, Mr. Sharp served as Chief Operating Officer of Enthone (ASARCO/Cookson), an international specialty-chemicals company with approximately $435 million of revenues. Prior to joining Enthone, Mr. Sharp held senior management positions at E I DuPont in business, sales, marketing, technical, and operations in electronics, fibers, films, coatings, and R&D.
